Do you see what I see….

Seagull Watching
Seagull Watching

“Do you see what I see”….. says the seagull looking in my window while I was vacationing in Victoria, B.C.  Ever have the feeling that something is staring at you?  Well we did and then noticed this seagull just watching us through the hotel window.  It was there for quite a while just checking things out.  Came back a few times too, as did a local crow.  Apparently we were interesting to watch.  Strange it is usually the us doing the “bird watching”, or is it?

While in Victoria I visited several amazing knitting stores.  There were others I didn’t have time to visit, but they are on my list for next time as we were so busy checking out the sites we ran out of time.  Victoria, B.C. is a wonderful place to visit with lots to see and do.  Just being in the harbour was relaxing and I enjoyed the escape to the Ocean.

I had been yearning for the ocean for months, and months.  Just being near water always gives me such peace and I feel complete, like I was mean to live there.  I was privy to live in Vancouver for 2 years many years ago and have always regretted leaving, but was fortunate to live near Toronto for 17 years afterwards and Lake Ontario often felt like the ocean as it was so large you couldn’t see the other side.  We spent a lot of time by the beach and water while living there.  I think it is why I love being by the water as I have spent a lot of years  near the lakes or the

ocean.  It’s why I needed my ocean/water fix so bad this year.

Back to Victoria, we saw killer whales and other wild life.  Stayed at a wonderful hotel, the Fairmont Empress Hotel, and enjoyed the sites.  I will be blogging more this week about all the wonderful treasures I found in the local knitting stores and the Water theme scarves I will be using them for.

We took a stop over in Vancouver on our way home and stayed at one of our favourite hotels right across from Stanley Park.  This is a must see when visiting Vancouver.  Likely my favourite place to be in Vancouver.  We walked a ton and enjoyed the local fair and food.

Took a visit to Grandville Island and enjoyed the amazing sites there.  Visited two knitting stores on Grandville Island, you just have to visit as many as possible you never know what you will find.  There are amazing stores in Grandville where the artist is working on their pieces right in the store so you can watch them create their designs and works of art.  Be sure to visit Grandville Island when in Vancouver, you will not be disappointed.

Inspiration was every where I looked and ideas were flowing from my

experiences on my vacation to Victoria and Vancouver, B.C.  I am off to start working on new designs for my Water theme.  Be sure to check back and see what I will be designing.

Have a wonderful and inspiring day.

    1. I found it strange being watch by a bird. LOL Obviously we are more interesting than I thought! 🙂 That’s funny you were being watched too. Magpies are funny birds. They talk so much with such a strange bird talk. We get a few on the roof next door often and they chatter away to each other. The other week one of the magpies jumped on the spinning air vent on our neighours roof and went for a marry go round ride. So funny!
